1. Proof of Ownership
The Client confirms that valid proof of ownership of the above-mentioned vehicle has been provided and verified prior to any work being carried out.
2. Scope of Work
The Client has requested ECU programming / coding modifications, specifically relating to:
  • Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) modification, suppression, or removal
  • Associated ECU calibration changes where required
Prior to any modification, the following will be performed where technically possible:
  • Full readout and backup of original ECU data (BIN / calibration file)
  • Secure storage of original data for potential restoration
3. Nature of DTC Modification
The Client acknowledges that:
  • DTC modification may include disabling, masking, or altering fault reporting logic within the ECU
  • This may prevent certain faults from being logged, stored, or displayed
  • This does not constitute a repair of the underlying mechanical or electrical fault
4. Client Acknowledgement of Risks
The Client understands and accepts that:
  • Underlying faults may still exist and can worsen over time
  • Safety-related systems may be affected depending on ECU logic and DTC scope
  • The vehicle may operate outside manufacturer specifications
  • The vehicle may fail roadworthy inspections or compliance testing
  • The vehicle may be non-compliant with emissions regulations
  • Dashboard warnings may no longer reflect actual system status
  • Future diagnostics may be limited or misleading due to modified DTC behavior
5. Limitation of Liability
The Client agrees that Diag Auto Clinic (DAC) is not liable for:
  • Mechanical or electrical failure resulting from pre-existing conditions
  • Consequential damage arising after DTC modification
  • Misdiagnosis or delayed detection of faults due to suppressed DTCs
  • Any safety, legal, compliance, or insurance implications
  • Loss of manufacturer warranty (if applicable)
The Client assumes full responsibility for continued operation of the vehicle after modification.
6. Restoration
The Client acknowledges:
  • Original ECU data may be restored using the backed-up file (if available)
  • Restoration requires a return visit and may incur additional cost
  • Full restoration may not always revert all adaptations or learned values depending on ECU type
7. No Guarantee of Outcome
The Client understands that:
  • Results may vary depending on ECU type, software version, and system architecture
  • Some DTCs may not be fully suppressible without side effects
  • DAC does not guarantee complete elimination of all fault indicators or related symptoms
8. Declaration
I, the undersigned Client, confirm that:
  • I am the lawful owner or authorized representative of the vehicle
  • I have requested this service voluntarily
  • I understand that DTC modification is not a repair
  • I accept all associated risks and consequences
  • I release Diag Auto Clinic (DAC) from all liability related to this work
